Thought Provoking Words

- We dont donate any money or anything to anyone, we just share our financial resources with those we feel are better at using them and we have excess of it. So we are not doing any favor to anyone. Next time you throw a dime at beggar dont feel that you are doing any favor to anyone except you.

Book Review Black Swan The Impact of Highly Improbable

Hi,

I am currently reading book called Black Swan by Nicholas Taleb ( A Lebanon by born and Wharton Graduate in Economics and Finance) this one is more relavant book for some one like me who is affected and tracking events in the world of financial institutions.

In fact this book will change the way you think and take decision about anything to everything important in your life.

Few thought provoking illustration given in the book i would like to describe as below.

In late 1960s medical practitioners could not find evidence that breast feeding is good for new born child so this ideally should be described as There is no evidence of benefits of mother milk to new born child.

The same thing was misinterpreted as there is evidence of no benefits of mother milks to new born child. This misinterpretation led to many american women depriving their child of mother milk and used powder milk and bottle instead. Unfortunately they called it a modern way doing things . This helped milk powder companies and baby bottle manufacturing companies only.

Later it was found that it is essential not only beneficial to feed mother milk to new born baby, but what about those who were deprived of the same just because of one interpretion error?

These things happened because there is a particular way in which we are accustomed to think, describe and conclude.

Do read this book for many such examples of how we misjudge so many things around us.
